Anna O’Malley Jasmine Austin Public Speaking 10/21/14 Informative Outline Example Disney Hidden Secrets General Purpose: To inform Specific Purpose: By the end of my speech, the audience will be able to identify three hidden secrets they probably did not know about Disneyland and also some history on the amusement park. Central Idea: The happiest place on earth has a few interesting facts that most people don’t know about. Organizational Method: Informative Introduction: Disneyland, opening in 1955, has become one of the happiest places on earth. With having close family in California, and growing up there practically, I have been able to experience Disneyland well over at least 15 times. Only if you looked closely though. 11. Hidden Mickeys of Disney are one of the best scavenger hunts at Disneyland or Disneyworld. A. A hidden mickey is an image of Mickey Mouse concealed in the design of a Disney attraction (rides, decoration, resort, etc.) In designing, constructing or adding the final touches to an attraction, Imagineers subtly â€Å"hide: Mickey Mouse silhouettes. Disney fans have to find these hidden mickeys and it’s a fun scavenger hunt for all. B. Hidden Mickeys can be hard to find and you don’t want to mix them up with Mickeys that aren’t actually hidden mickeys. 1. First, any Mickey that seems large and very intricate, such as a formation of a cave, is probably not an honest-to-god hidden mickey. 2. Second, a Mickey should be proportioned correctly. If the ears are too small or too close together, like the padlocks in all the parks, or if each circle is a different size and not in perspective, it is most likely not a hidden mickey. 3. Lastly, a true hidden mickey should not have to rely too much on imagination, such as the Matterhorn Mickey. If you must squint your eyes, tilt your head, and have a certain amount of lighting at a certain angle, it’s probably not a Mickey. A mickey might be upside down or sideways, but when pointed out, should be relatively clear.
